Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)

Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program

a)  Saskatchewan Immigration Points Calculator

Applicants have to score at least 60 points out of 100 to be eligible to apply for the SINP. The factors playing an important role in Points calculator are age, qualification, work experience, language proficiency, etc.

b)  Saskatchewan In-Demand Occupation List

It includes all the occupations that have high demand in the province and need urgent hiring of skilled workers to meet the shortage of labor in the market. If your occupation is on the list and you have required work experience in that occupation, you are eligible to apply for SINP.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program is operated by the provincial Government of the province and Federal Government of Canada. This program nominates selected skilled workers to IRCC for permanent residency. Interesting overseas candidates can apply to the SINP through two different ways:

a)   You have to submit expression of interest (EOI) to the SINP. If you receive the nomination from the province, you can create a new Express Entry profile and submit your credentials in the system.

b)  The other way is to create an Express Entry profile and show an interest in the province. Eligible candidates will be selected by the Immigration Department and will be invited to apply to the SINP.

If you are nominated, you will get provincial nomination certificate and credited with 600 points towards your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score. In the subsequently Express Entry Draw, you may receive the invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada.

Immigration Categories under Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program

a) International Skilled Worker Category

This sub-category is made for the highly skilled workers who have experience in an in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan but do not have a job offer from any employer in the province.

3. Express Entry Sub-Category

This sub-category helps the province to nominate individuals who already have an application under process in the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship express entry pool and possess skilled work experience in an in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan.

b) Saskatchewan Experience Category

This category is eligible for applicants who are currently living and working in Saskatchewan and has at least 6 months of work experience as a temporary skilled worker in the province.

  1. Existing work permit:This sub-category is for individuals who have been working in Saskatchewan for a minimum of six months on a valid work permit.
  2. Health Professionals: This sub-category is for individuals who have worked as physicians, nurses or were in any other health professions in the state for at least six months.
  3. Hospitality Sector project:This sub-category is for individuals who are currently working in Saskatchewan in the hospitality industry as food and beverage servers, food counter attendants, kitchen helpers or as housekeeping and cleaning staff for at least six months.
  4. Long Haul Truck Driver Project: This sub-category is for the people who are currently working for a trucking firm in the state. The drivers should have worked in Saskatchewan for six months with their current employer before applying.
  5. Students:This sub-category is for students who are graduates from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada. Among all the requirements the students must have worked in Saskatchewan for at least 24 months before applying or for six months in the institution is located in Saskatchewan.

c) Entrepreneur Category

Experienced People from business backgrounds who want to start their own business in Saskatchewan are eligible to apply under this category.

d)  Farm Category

Experienced farmers who want to buy or monitor a farm in Saskatchewan are eligible to apply under this category.

Saskatchewan Permanent Residency 

Interested Skilled workers seeking permanent residency in Saskatchewan have to gather all the essential documents to apply in the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). By applying through SINP online, you can submit all the necessary key details – age, education, work experience, etc. You will be given a provincial nomination certificate if your profile gets selected. You can apply for permanent residency directly to Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Once your profile gets approval from the IRCC, you will be issued with a permanent residency visa.

SINP fee and Processing Time

The SINP fee is CAD 300 for applicants applying under the International Skilled Worker: Saskatchewan Express Entry Sub-category and International Skilled Worker: Occupation In-Demand Sub-category. There is a requirement for the fund settlements and the applicant has to keep the funds at least three months before submitting the visa application. Also, you must have sufficient funds to maintain their living in the province.  The average processing time is between 4 and 6 months.
