Candidates with occupation available on the Western Australia Skilled Migration Occupation List and meet all the minimum requirements of the state nomination process of the state are eligible to apply for the proposed subclass.

a) You have to meet the eligibility requirements for the visa subclass you are applying for – the Subclass 190 or the subclass 489. The Skilled Regional Provisional Visa subclass 489 will be converted to the new Skilled Work Regional Visa subclass 491 from November 16, 2019.
b) The passport holders of countries like the United States, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom don’t have to appear for an English Language exam. Otherwise, candidates from non-English speaking nations have to meet the minimum English language requirements applicable to your occupation and stream.

a) You must have at least one year of work experience in the nominated occupation in the past 10 years, or
b) You must have at least three years of work experience in the nominated occupation in the last 10 years;
c) Your work experience will be assessed by the WA migration in association with the Department of Home Affairs requirement stating that the work experience is gained after completing the post-qualification and through paid employment. Your working hours should be at least 20 hours a week in the specified occupation.
Note: If you have applied under the Graduate Stream and have a Western Australia PhD or Masters Degree, you don’t have to meet the work experience requirement for your Western Australia State nomination.
