CRS score drops again in the latest Canada’s Express Entry Pool

The Canada Government has invited 3,350 candidates in a recent Express Entry draw held May 1 to apply for Canada Permanent Residency. There is a minimum decrease in a CRS score by 1 point in this draw -compared to the previous draw on April 17, which was 451. The CRS score has been decreased fourth time since 20 February.

Canada Express Entry System was originated in 2015, where skilled workers can apply for permanent residency depending on their ability to settle in Canada, as well as, participation in the Canadian economy. It is an electronic system involves the federal government, provincial governments, and approved Canadian employers. This process is an easier pathway for candidates to apply for a PR visa.

Express Entry system looks after the pool of candidates of Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class- three prime economic immigration categories of Canada and contributes the greatest share in economic class immigrants each year. Candidates who are eligible to apply in these three categories are entered into the Express Entry pool and score is assigned on the factors such as age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French. The candidates who receive high scores are invited to apply for Canada permanent residence through regular draws from the pool.

With a total of 31,250 invitations so far in the year 2019, Express Entry seems to set as a big year for Express Entry candidates, as Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) mounts invitations to meet its Immigration targets. This might upshot into the cutback of CRS threshold as the year passes.

The acceleration in a number of invitations replicates the increase in admission targets under the Express Entry-managed programs, which is to be increased from 2019 to 2021. In 1st May Draw tie break has been used by IRCC, meaning that not all the candidates with a CRS score of 450 may possibly receive an ITA. As manifold candidates may have 450 CRS points and the ones who had entered their profile in the pool prior to November 5, 2018, were prioritized.
