Canada in its Latest Express Entry Draw invited 500 Federal Skilled Trade Class candidates with CRS as low as 357 to apply for Canada permanent residence held on October 16. This is the second draw of 2019 that targeted candidates in the Federal Skilled Trades Class category, this category is open to International nationals with a certificate of qualification that proves they are qualified to work in an eligible skilled trade in Canada OR have an eligible offer of employment in Canada, among other criteria.

Canada’s Federal Skilled Trades Class is considered as one of three Federal High Skilled Immigration programs which are managed by the Express Entry System. The other two Immigration categories are the Federal Skilled Worker Class and the Canadian Experience Class.
Every Express Entry Draw invites candidates from all three main-economic categories but this draw was a rare exception as it invited all candidates from, Federal Skilled Trades Class. The previous draw held on October 2, 2019 issues 3,900 invitations to apply (ITAs).
If we talk about the Immigration target for the year 2019 and 2020, it can be anticipated that IRCC is going to take up again many draws in the coming weeks. The score is given to the express entry candidates based on factors such as age, education, skilled work experience, and English/French proficiency and are entered into the Express Entry Pool. This draw invited candidates with CRS as low as 357 which was 81 points lower compared to the lowest cut-off score in all the Express Entry Draws of this year, which was 438.

Talking about Express Entry aligned PNPs, Alberta invited express entry candidates with CRS as low as 400 in its Latest Draw and its previous draws, selected candidates with CRS as low as 300 received invitations through the Alberta Express Entry Stream. Other Express Entry-aligned nomination streams don’t consider a CRS of a candidate and have its own Point system, for instance, Manitoba and British Columbia.
