Manitoba conducted its new draw on November 7 and issues invitation to 180 skilled workers, International Student Graduates and Express Entry Candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence in Canada.
Manitoba province has its provincial nominee program; called Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program invites applicants through its categories: Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled Worker Overseas and International Education to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence. Out of all the streams, invitations through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas are entirely based on Expression of Interest (EOI) score.

Entered profiles are evaluated based on a score out of 1,000 that consists of factors such as education, work experience, connections to Manitoba and English/French proficiency, among other factors.
Highest-scoring applicants receive a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) from the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) and submit their application for a provincial nomination for permanent residence. In this November 7 Draw, a total of 180 LAAs were given to applicants, where 133 invitations went to candidates under Skilled Worker in Manitoba, 24 went to Skilled Worker Overseas, and remaining 23 invitations were issued to candidates under International Education Stream.

To get a provincial nomination from Manitoba, express entry applicants need to have work experience in one of Manitoba’s in-demand occupations and submit a separate Expression of Interest to the MPNP.
The Skilled Worker Overseas Category of the MPNP allows the MPNP to select and nominate International workers with skills required in Manitoba’s labour market. Connections to Manitoba such as family or close friends, previous education in the province or, previous work experience in the province or invitation through one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives factors helps in escalating your chances.
In this November 7 draw, a total of 24 Skilled Worker overseas applicants received invitation with a minimum EOI score of 719.

Students graduated from Manitoba who has in-demand skills may receive invitation under the International Education Stream. This stream has three sub-categories: Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and the Student Entrepreneur Pathway. Manitoba has issued a total of 6,911 invitations to candidates through its Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled Worker Overseas and International Education so far this year.
