Manitoba has recently conducted the MPNP Draw on December 6 and issued 221 invitations to immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada Permanent Residence. A total of 221 invitations were issued under the sub-categories of MPNP – Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled Worker Overseas Categories and the International Education Stream. Adding this draw leads to a total of 7,362 LAAs issued this year under the Manitoba Immigrant Nominee Program (MPNP).
Out of 221 invitations, 165 went to candidates under Skilled Workers in Manitoba, 23 invitations were sent under the Skilled Worker Overseas, and 33 invitations went to International Education Stream.

A total of 18 candidates with Express Entry profile received invitations in this draw. The Express Entry system manages the pool of candidates for three main economic immigration categories: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canada Experience Class. Candidates are given with a CRS score based on factors such as age, work experience, education, and language ability. Candidates with the highest scores get an invitation from the Canada government to apply for a permanent residence through regular draws from the Express Entry Pool.
Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination certificate are awarded an additional 600 CRS points, which increases the chances of receiving invitation to apply for permanent residence visa through regular draws from the Express Entry Pool.

To be eligible to apply for a provincial nomination from Manitoba, express entry candidates need to have work experience in any of the occupations in demand in Manitoba Occupation list, among other requirements. Candidates need to submit a separate Expression of Interest to the MPNP.
Expression of Interest
To be eligible to receive invitation for a provincial nomination under both the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas Categories, a candidate has to register the Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP.
In this draw, 522 was the score obtained by the lowest-scoring candidate who received invitation under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream and 714 was the score obtained by the lowest-scoring candidate under the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream.
Expression of Interest is an online profile that is ranked out of 1000 based on factors such as education, work experience, connection to Manitoba and English/French proficiency, among other factors. From the pool, only the highest-scoring candidates receive an LAA, permitting them to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada permanent residence from Manitoba. Candidates

Skilled Worker Overseas and Skilled Worker in Manitoba
The Skilled Worker Overseas Category allows Manitoba to nominate skilled workers who can contribute to the economy of the province and can support the labor market. To be eligible to apply under this category, a candidate must have an established connection to Manitoba such as close family or friends, previous education or work experience in the province, or invitation from one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives. A total of 23 candidates were invited through the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream. Candidates who receive invitation through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Category must be working in Manitoba and have a full-time, permanent job offer from their employer, among other criteria.
International Education Stream
Manitoba Graduates might receive invitation under the International Education Stream if their skills are in demand. This stream has three sub-categories: Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and the Student Entrepreneur Pathway.
