In the recent Manitoba’s Expression of Draw, the main target was at Skilled Foreign workers and international graduates. The recent draw held on August 15 under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 360 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to applicants to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada permanent residence through streams – Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled Worker Overseas and the International Education Stream. Approx 32 LAAs out of 360, was given to candidates having a profile in the Federal Express Entry System.

In 2018, around 5,207 nominations were issued under the MPNP, where almost 98% were given to candidates in its two skilled worker categories – Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas. Manitoba province has issued approximately 5,810 invitations in its 16 EOI draws in this year.
a)Skilled Worker in Manitoba
Under this category, qualified temporary foreign workers and International Student Graduates who are working in the province and received a permanent job offer from an eligible employer can apply and 244 LAAs were given to candidates in this category in the latest draw.Candidates applying under this category have to submit Expression of Interest profile online and include information related to their education, work experience, English/ French proficiency, among other factors. The Score is given to eligible applicants out of 1,000 and is placed in the Manitoba Expression of Interest (EOI) pool.
b) Skilled Worker Overseas
Total 83 candidates were invited in Skilled Worker Overseas category in the latest draw. Candidates were invited through a Strategic recruitment Initiative that includes overseas recruitment missions organized by the MPNP in association with Manitoba employers. Candidates applying under this category have to complete Expression of Interest and meet the stream’s minimum requirements. Candidates who received an invitation in the Federal Express Entry System had a valid Express Entry ID and job seeker validation code along with verifiable experience in occupation mention in the Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupation List.
c)International Education Stream
The International Education Stream (IES) belongs to candidates graduated from Manitoba and are fit to meet the province’s labor market needs and requirements. This stream includes three major subcategories- Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and the Student Entrepreneur Pathway. The MPNP issued 36 LAAs to candidates under this category in the latest draw.
