Quebec Government has released complete details of its invitation round held September 4 in which a total of 32 candidates having an Arrima profile received invitations. Candidates with Expression of Interest profile and a valid job offer and overseas nationals working as diplomats, consular officers, or representatives of an intergovernmental organization such as the United Nations in Quebec received invitations by the Quebec government. As compared to the previous draw held July 17, where 259 invitations were issued to apply for permanent selection, the number of invitations dropped drastically this time, though both the draws had similar eligibility requirements.

Introduced in the year 2018, Arrima receives Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles for the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) and looks after its bank of applicants. EOI put forward the interest of the candidate to immigrate to Quebec and notify Quebec’s Ministry of Immigration about their interest to be considered for a Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec, or CSQ). A Quebec Selection Certificate allows an applicant to permanent residence in Quebec.
Arrima was replaced by the previous first-come-first-served approach to accepting applications of interesting and eligible candidates to the Quebec Skilled Worker Program. The EOI system requires the profile of a candidate in Arrima and then, the score is given based on human capital factors that include age, education, and area of training, work experience, and French proficiency. Afterward, candidates receive invitation to apply for a CSQ depending on their score or other factors like labor shortage in the province outlying regions. If candidates get a CSQ then they are eligible to apply for permanent residence through the Federal Immigration Ministry of Canada, which confirms medical and criminal acceptability.
